Die Gr\u00fcndung Gisbornes liegt \u00fcber 700 Jahre zur\u00fcck und ist damit eine der \u00e4ltesten St\u00e4dte Neuseelands. Ebenfalls ist Gisborne die erste Stelle die von James Cook 1769 gesichtet worden ist. Und es auch damit, auf Grund eines Missverst\u00e4ndnisses, das erste Blutvergie\u00dfen gab. Alles in allem eine kleine beschauliche Stadt (ca. 30000 Einwohner), allerdings ohne weitere gr\u00f6\u00dfere Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 both' \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Am n\u00e4chsten Tag ging es dann zum Urewera National Park, der drittgr\u00f6\u00dfte Nationalpark Neuseelands. In der Mitte des Nationalparks liegt der See Waikaremoana und der kleinere See Waikareiti und Ruapani. Hier sind wir zu einer kleinen Wanderung, dem Lake Ruapani Track aufgebrochen. Ricarda jedoch nur bis zur ca. 1 Stunde vom Startpunkt entfernte Day Shelter Hut und dann zur\u00fcck zum Startpunkt. Ich bin weitere 5 Stunden durch den Urwald den Kreis weiter gegangen. Die Strecke ging mit einer kleinen Ausnahme komplett durch (Ur-)wald und pendelte zwischen 600 und 800 H\u00f6henmeter. Zwischendurch ging es zweimal \u00fcber kleine Steppen so wie an einem Sumpfgebiet und mehreren kleinen Seen vorbei. Der Pfad war teilweise nicht breiter als 40cm und manchmal nur noch ein kleiner noch gerade zu erkennender Trampelpfad im Unterholz. An einigen Stellen war der Weg durch umgefallenen B\u00e4ume versperrt und musste \u00fcber- bzw. unterklettert werden.
